20 advocates deprived advocates role

Up to twenty lawyers on Friday were struck off the Roll of Advocates.

Advocates Complaints Commission also suspended 12 other lawyers over what it termed as gross professional misconduct.

This was communicated through a Gazette Notice dated January 20, 2017.

According to the commission this was as a response to public outcry on the increasing number of rogue advocates.

The are blamed to have continued to fleece members of the public while putting the legal profession in disrepute.

Majority of the listed lawyers are based in Nairobi.

Those affected will not be allowed to practice law, represent clients nor appear in a court of law anywhere in the country without the authority of the Registrar of the High Court.
