A Kisii mother narrates how her infant got lost

A couple in Kisii County is in agony after their three month-old daughter was on Tuesday stolen by a stranger at the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital.

Calister Kwamboka’s misery is defined by that of a stranger playing with her emotions and psychology before stabbing her on the back and later disappearing with her infant.

Kwamboka narrated that she had taken her baby to the hospital when she noticed a strange lady always next to her at every stop at the hospital.

Assuming it was a normal thing, she entered into a conversation with her and it was from there the lady revealed to Kwamboka that she knew her family.

“Alianza kunielezea eti ananijua na tena anajua watu wa kwetu (She started telling me that she knew me and even knew my family),” Kwamboka said.

Having gained the trust of the stranger and undoubtedly believing she was a family member, Kwamboka left her with the baby when she wanted to go to the washroom before she could leave the hospital as she had finished her business there.

Her nightmare began when she came back only to find the lady had left with her baby. According to the CCTV footage the lady walked away with the baby pretending to be lulling it to sleep immediately Kwamboka left for the restroom.

Confirming the incident DCIO Kisii Charles Nyamwera noted that investigations were underway assuring the mother that the leads they had were quite substantive.
