Amani party sets conditions for joining Cord

Musalia Mudavadi’s party, Amani National Congress (ANC), has clearly outlined the targets that the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy should meet before they join.

ANC leaders vowed to support the formation of a super alliance between them CORD on condition that its party leader, Musalia Mudavadi, is fronted as the presidential candidate.

Speaking at a Kakamega hotel on Wednesday, October 12, ANC chairman, Julius Arunga, and Regional Coordinator, Major Malala, said that their party leader has all the necessary virtues and skills to lead the country calling on CORD leader, Raila Odinga, to support him.

If ANC merges with cord, this may be a gambling win for Raila and Cord in particular after the three current CORD principals, Moses Wetangula, Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka expressed their desire to root out Jubilee out of power.

However, the coalition has been ups and downs after each party member appointed self to be the flag bearer.

The Wiper leader, Kalonzo Musyoka, while speaking in Mombasa said that he has sacrificed a lot and now was his time, and noted he will on go for the presidency.

His remarks were echoed by Moses Wetangula who said that it was high time Raila should support either of Kalonzo and or Wetangula himself for the presidency, adding that Raila has lost on both occasions.

Those remarks were not well received by Orange Democratic Party members who said that the  party was more than prepared to face Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto alone in 2017 but Raila downplayed the showdown saying that he will support whoever was nominated.
