Drama as Embakasi East Member Of Parliament Paul Ongili aka Babu Owino takes his oath swearing allegiance to Raila Odinga and is asked to take his oath again.
Babu Owino during his swearing in on Thursday 31st of August 2017 mentioned the name of Nasa Principal Raila Odinga which was not part of the oath for MPs.
The clerk of the National Assembly presiding over MPs Swearing in had to ask him to repeat his oath, which he did.
His oath was as follows,
“I, Babu Owino ,having been elected a Member of Parliament do swear in the name of the Almighty God that I would bear true faith and allegiance to the people of the Republic of Kenya and Raila Odinga that I would obey,respect uphold protect preserve and defend this constitution of the Republic of Kenya and that I would faithfully and conscientiously discharge the duties of the Member of Parliament, so help me God. Thank you. Tibim!”
