BBI report jitters: DP Ruto and allies cite irreducible minimums ahead of report handover

By Chris Sambu

As President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga plan to receive the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report from the handshake task force on Tuesday, politicians allied to deputy president William Ruto on Sunday made clear their irreducible minimums if at all they are to support the bid that could see Kenya move to a referendum before the year 2022.

The legislators allied to DP Ruto threatened to reject the BBI report if it will not address the interests of the people from the region.

The politicians vowed to oppose attempts to have the country’s chief executive elected by parliament as currently constituted.
