Business came to stand still in Busia town following anti -IEBC demonstrations by hundreds of cord supporters who demanded removal of its commissioners in office. Armed with posters and placards the demonstrators called on the President and his deputy to embrace dialogue over the current stalemate.
Led by ODM Busia County Chairperson Matayos MP Geoffrey Odanga,Secretary Innocent Oluku and Vice Chairperson Peter Odima,the supporters demonstrated distance of 5kilometres from Korinda to the IEBC offices chanting anti-IEBC songs before they presented petition to commission officers.
Odanga cautioned that the Jubilee administration’s hard stand on the electoral body was posing animosity and mistrust among Kenyans with the tribal seed being rooted.
The MP while presenting the petition to IEBC constituency administrative assistant,Gomiti Julian vowed to continue with demonstrations on subsequent Mondays until when the commissioners will leave office.
