CANDIDATES TO SIT FOR KCPE IN A SAFE ENVIRONMENT, SAYS COMMISSIONER

Candidates sitting for this year’s KCPE examination in Nyeri County will conduct the exercise in a safe environment amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

The area county commissioner Mr. Lyford Kibaara assured parents and the candidates that strict adherence to the health protocols will be observed as the national exercise kicked off today.

Kibaara was speaking this morning at the Nyeri Central sub-county grounds when he witnessed the opening of the container where the exam is being stored under tight security.

He said that medical personnel are on high alert to attend to any emergency that might arise during the three- day exercise.

“We are prepared and I want to assure parents and the students that all is well and the security is tight,” said Kibaara.

The county has 514 centres with a total number of 17,334 candidates sitting for the exam.

Kibaara noted that all the candidates will sit for the exam as no abstention had been recorded so far.
