Embu Town residents stage protest over poor roads

Angry residents of Majimbo estate in Embu town blocked the busy Kamiu Road protesting over its dilapidated state. The residents argued that for a long time, their MCA Peter Nyaga alias Kobole had been deceitful and full of excuses each time they raise concern over the roads..

According to the angry residents, MCA Nyaga had been ignoring them whenever they sought his attention, prompting them to seek an alternative way to air their grievances.

To capture his attention, the residents together with bodaboda operators dug trenches on the road that also leads to Tenri hospital and the cereals board offices.

The blockage rendered the busy road impassable for more than two hours. On arrival at the scene, MCA Nyaga, two chiefs, the county minister for Infrastructure and several police officers found the angry residents had blocked the road.

The protestors angrily also disrupted Nyaga’s address to the press. They argued that he keeps lying to the media.

Road repair works commenced immediately after the strike ended.
