Manchester United and Everton will make history when they face each other in Wayne Rooney’s testimonial on Wednesday.
The two clubs will meet in a game that docks in the history books as the first match between two Premier League teams to be streamed live on Facebook.
Rooney has only ever played club football for Manchester United and Everton, with the game marking the forward’s 12 years’ service at Old Trafford.
All money received from the game will be split between four different charities.
Facebook has a global reach of 1.7billion people, with the game being available on Wayne Rooney’s and Manchester United’s official pages on the social media site.
‘I am delighted my testimonial game will be streamed globally, which will hopefully raise awareness and increase donations,’ Wayne Rooney said.
