IEBC panic over low voter registration turnout.

With less than Five days remaining for the closure of the voter registration in the country, current trend of the exercise in Mavoko subcounty, Machakos county remains a big worry, says Mlolongo Assistant county commissioner, Dennis Onganga.

Speaking to journalists after traversing several registration centers in the area, Mr Oganga said the projected target of forty thousand voters for the entire Mavoko subcounty may not be achieved in the few days remaining given the current already registered number to date ranging between three to four thousand people in the whole constituency which translates to eight percent.

He appealed to local leaders including chiefs and their Assistants to join efforts and mobilize the locals towards the exercise in a bid to catch up with the wide deficit in the remaining short time.

Onganga said there were three kits with enough staff in every Ward in the whole constituency which translates to adequate service hence urging the locals to make use of the manpower in good time before waiting for last hour rush.
