Neddy Atieno, a striker, and full-back Enez Mango will miss the Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) in Cameroon next month after securing employment.
Mango ]has joined Google Incorporated while Atieno has been recruited by the Kenya Defence Forces.
Starlets coach praises their decision
Starlets Team Manager Doreen Nabwire hailed their decision to seek greener pastures away from football despite their withdrawal being a huge blow to the side.
Nabwire confirmed that Neddy has joined the KDF with their (KDF) set to start on October 30.
However, Nabwire remained hopeful of having Neddy after she was told by her current bosses that if they submit requisition letter she may be given permission.
“I have talked with her bosses and some have told me there is a slight possibility for her release to join us for the competition if we submit a requisition letter,” Nabwire said.
Nabwire noted that they were working on the issue and they are prepared for another option if it does not happen.
