Michael Joseph appointed acting CEO Safaricom

Michael Joseph, Safaricom’s former CEO makes a comeback in acting capacity following the death of Bob Collymore.

Company Secretary Kathryne Maundu said, “The board is confident that during this transition, Mr Joseph will provide the necessary guidance and leadership to the company and its employees.”

Joseph, 67 is the current chairman of the board of Kenya Airways. He is also the Director of Mobile Money at Vodafone Group Services Limited. He was the CEO of Safaricom Limited from July 2000 – November 2010.

During his tenure, he steered the company from a subscriber base of less than 20,000 to over 16.71 million subscribers
