You must corporate, Maraga tell IEBC and NASA

The Chief Justice Davide Maraga has cautioned the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and the National Super Alliance (NASA) over failure to corporate.

Justice Maraga was responding to claims by the NASA lawyers that IEBC had failed to grant them access to the servers as per the directive of the Supreme Court.

At five o’clock, we’ll want a report and anyone failing to comply will have to explain to the court,” he said.

To make the process faster, Maraga further gave an order to Supreme Court Registrar Esther Nyaiyaki to increase the number of staff scrutinising the original Forms 34A and 34B at the Milimani Law Courts.

IEBC lawyer Paul Muite said that the servers were in Europe, which is two hours behind Kenya thus IEBC had had to wait for them to start working and set up a way the servers could be accessed from Kenya.

“My clients are going further because there are some things that are beyond the orders that were given by this court,” said Mr. Muite.
