Mwangi Wa Iria’s New Political Party

By David Ndirangu

The Civic Renewal Party (CRP) which is linked to Murang’a Governor has received its certificate of registration from the Registrar of Political Parties.

With gold, green and black as its colors, the party symbol has a cow and a milk can.

According to CRP’s Secretary Ephantus Githae, who happens to be Wa Iria’s aide, the party has a national outlook, with 300,000 members said to be registered across the country.

The registrar of political parties Ann Nderitu said that the minimum requirement of having 1,000 members in each of 24 counties had been met by the party.

The party is seen as Mr. Wa Iria’s political vehicle to national politics and to have control of Mt Kenya votes. This is the first political party to be registered in the region after the 2017 general elections. Party officials however say that their objective is to complement the work of the Jubilee administration.
