Nairobi motorists experienced hitches when using the new system to pay for parking. Most motorists who attempted to pay for their parking were unable to process payments as they got error messages.
After dialing *235#, mobile users were unable to select the section where the payment will be done.
County director of communications Elkana Jacob insisted that the system works, only that there was traffic in payments.
“Many people started paying for parking from 7am and due to the traffic, the system might have experienced some hitches. The county was also doing an upgrade of the system at around 9.30am which might have contributed to the hitches,” he said..”
JamboPay’s contract with City Hall ended on Saturday. County Executive Member for Finance Charles Kerich assured residents of a smooth transition.
The County also got a new paybill account which will be announced within the week to ensure continuity of services
