Narok Governor Patrick Ntutu has reassured the residents that the ongoing expansion of Narok County Referral hospital and construction of Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) will be completed in three months time.
Ntutu spoke when he toured the ongoing constructions at the hospital where he said he is committed to boost the health sector in his first 100 days in office as he promised the residents before the elections.
“We want to completely change the way we manage things in the health sector. We want to ensure that all the hospitals have medicine
Ntutu revealed that the quarterly medicine will be brought next week saying he will meet all the heads of the 93 dispensaries, 25 health centers and four referral hospitals in the county to put guidelines on how the medicine will be distributed.
“I no longer want to hear that some health facilities did not receive medicine. That is why I will be meeting the heads of these facilities to put things in order before the medicine is distributed,” he said.
Ntutu was accompanied by two top doctors from India; Dr. Sanjeev Bagai, the President India Child Health Association and Rajesh Luthra.
Also present was Narok County Commissioner Isaac Masinde and Narok County Police Commander Kizito Mutoro.
The team will visit all the health facilities in the county for the next two days with an aim of improving services at the facilities.
Dr.Bagai assured governor Ntutu that they will work with the county to improve the health sector in the county by ensuring the hospitals run efficiently and effectively.
