Narok County Governor-Elect Patrick Ntutu has called upon the elected Members of the County Assembly (MCA) to work together to implement many development projects in the area.
Ntutu (UDA) said all the elected MCAs had a vision for the people, but can only accomplish their dreams if they relate well with the executive wing.
He reiterated that the electioneering season was over, calling on those who had lost the elections to support the elected leaders by giving advice that will help build the County.
“I have invited my worthy competitor, Moitalel Ole Kenta (ODM) to my administration so that we can exchange ideas and see how we will develop this County together. However, he is yet to come,” he said.
The Governor-Elect spoke at a Maasai Mara hotel after a closed-door meeting with the 29 elected MCAs in the County.
Ntutu, who is expected to be sworn in office on Thursday this week also promised to set aside a Ward Development Fund that will be controlled by the MCAs, which will be used to implement projects in the ward level.
Also present was Ntutu’s Deputy Governor-Elect 29-year-old Tamalinye Koech.
Ntutu’s sentiments were lauded by Ololpir MCA, Wilson Murkuya (ODM), who said the Ward Development Fund, will empower them to help their people on the ground.
The second term MCA reiterated that the electorates have high hopes on them thanking the new administration for agreeing to create a kit that will be channeled to develop all the wards.
Meanwhile, the Governor-Elect has called on domestic and foreign tourists to tour the Maasai Mara game reserve, to witness the spectacular wildebeest crossing that happens between July and September.
“I thank tourists who have been flocking to the game reserve despite the electioneering season. Security has been beefed in the area and tourists are assured of safety,” he said.
Meanwhile, 15 out of 29 elected MCAs in the area are from the Kenya Kwanza Alliance side, while 11 were aligned to the Azimio La Umoja side, with others being elected on an Independent ticket.
Ololmasani Ward in Emurrua Dikirr Constituency, is yet to elect their leader after an aspirant died a few days to the general election.
