ODM candidate Malachi Matara Mainya has emerged the winner in Kiamokama ward by-election with a total of 1,907 votes. Daniel Ondari of PED came second by garnering 1,257 votes ahead of two other close contestants, Steven Nyakeriga PPP (1004) and Nyandusi Nyakeramba UDA (491).
The mini poll attracted 11 candidates in the war with a total of of over 10,900 registered voters.
Thanking the voters for electing him, Matara pledged to offer selfless service through a sustained consultation with them. Matara extended an invitation to his competitors to join him transform the ward for the benefit of the residents.
The poll out come was announced by the IEBC Returning Officer Mark Manco.
