POLITICAL SPECTRUM: How Ruto Benefits If Jubilee Is Send Parking On August 8th

Today in POLITICAL SPECTRUM we try to figure out how the Deputy President of Kenya William Ruto will benefit if his political outfit,Jubilee, is send parking come August 8.

William Samoei Ruto is true Kenyan politician.

His journey to grace has been nothing but turbulent but I can call him a political survivor because he has been able to handle everything that life has thrown at him.mashamba

From a hustler selling chicken to Youths 4 KANU (Y4K) and now he is the second most powerful man in Kenya.

But to Mr. Ruto he is not yet there,he wants to occupy State House come 2022.

Now, just how likely is this goal?

Mr. Ruto played a key role that ensured Uhuru Kenyatta becomes the 4th president of the Republic Of Kenya.

What has Changed Since 2013?

A lot has happened since Ruto delivered President Uhuru Kenyatta to State House in 2013.

The most obvious are the scandals that have accompanied  the Jubilee government and William Ruto as a person.

Allegedly, most land-grabbing cases have fingers pointed at the DP to a level where people have joked calling him ‘Arap Mashamba’.

William Ruto is the Rift Valley Kingpin, however, scales have seem to tip with the opposition from Governor Isaac Ruto and the rest of Bomet County.

Rift Valley has more vocal people like Mandago and the former President’s son Gideon Moi who have become the people’s darlings.

But,as I have said before, the DP is good at handling everything life throws at him.

Why Ruto Will Benefit From Jubilee Lose

Despite all these side shows, William Ruto remains the sharpest schemer in the world of Kenyan politics.

He seems to be more focused on 2022 polls more than the ones on August 8th.

Here is how sending Jubilee home will benefit Ruto:

  • This will give him enough time to plan the next elections. Mostly, presidential aspirants in Kenya need more than one attempt to finally clinch the top seat. The DP knows this and more time out of power will give him enough time to make one sure and concrete attempt.
  • Time is a great healer. 5 years out of power is time enough for Kenyans to forget all the scandals he has had in his first term as Kenyan DP. It is also time enough to apologize for reckless statements like ‘ule mganga’ because as a president you need votes from all regions.
  • Trust gained. Despite the presence of Ruto in Jubilee, they still had to go out of their way to talk KANU into their coalition to be sure of Rift Valley. I don’t know about you but this would really hurt my feelings. If Jubilee fails,Ruto can easily convince his people that he is the right person to deliver them to power now that going in without them has proved futile.
  • Ready Lieutenants. William Ruto conquered Jubilee primaries. Most of the people Ruto fronted clinched their nomination tickets and just to add cherry to the icing, most them are first timers. First Ruto has gained their trust then their loyalty. Such lieutenants will be ready come 2022,ready to support his presidential bid.
  • Change of tactics. Being out of the next government will give Ruto ample time to clear his head. If Jubilee looses the coming elections,Ruto will be able to decipher the kind of tactics that might have led to such an occurrence and lay down better tactics for the 2022.
  • Dealing with over-confidence. If Jubilee wins,Ruto might develop some sort of over-confidence. This normally is not good for politics.

With this in mind, there are various reasons to believe that if Jubilee don’t get their hands on a second term at least there will be one person who will benefit from this,William Samoei Ruto
