Over the weekend,MP Ababu Namwamba found himself in a dangerous situation when a speeding lorry reportedly thrust into a venue where he was holding a political meeting.
Namwamba was at Hotel Levantes in Amagoro town where he was meeting youth from Teso North and South sub-counties. According to reports, the truck was ferrying goods to Uganda when it rammed into the hotel and blocked the entrance.
Luckily, no one was injured during the Saturday incident.Traffic police officers from Malaba police Station came to Namwamba’s rescue, helping him find an alternative exit from the venue.
At the meeting, Namwamba, who recently broke ties with ODM hit out at CORD leader Raila Odinga stating that his recent visit to his region was a sign of fear.
He rubbished Odinga’s claims that he had been compromised by Jubilee to leave the Opposition, adding that his new political outfit Third Force movement was ready to work with like-minded parties in the 2017 General Election.
“We do not have a presidential candidate and as such we will not be fronting anyone. We will look at parties like ours with the best interest of Kenyans in order to join forces with them,” he said.
Elsewhere,Water Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa and Devolution CS Mwangi Kiunjuri were forced to discontinue their meeting in West Pokot when they were attacked by a swarm of bees.
