Why Sunday Churchill show Sunday episode was abruptly brought to an end

The fans of ChurchilShow were on Sunday evening treated to a rear spectacular after the one-hour entertainment aired for less than 15 minutes, and commercial took the airtime.

This was after Kenya Film Classification Board boss Ezekiel Mutua demanded the termination of the Sunday episode terming it ‘un-family’  and ‘horrible’ prank.

Calling it “a stupid and horrible prank” the KFCB CEO continued to condemn the way the drill was played on the show that is highly watched by many people adding that it was”lacking in imagination and possibly the evidence of the beginning of the end of an era.”

“That prank plus the idiotic meru-accident-laden village wag’s sex talk disguised as bicycle ride is against the Programming Code for Free-to-air radio and television services in Kenya. Any celebrity who makes money by pushing dirty content is no better than the corrupt politicians looting our country. It’s impunity and it’s wrong!” Ezekiel Mutua posted on Facebook.

Following the post, the Churchill Show boss Daniel Ndambuki, according to post by the KFCB CEO gave him a call and apologised for the yesterday’s episode as he took full responsibility for the incident.

“I have received a call from Mwalimu King’ang’i this morning regarding the unfortunate episode of the Churchill Show last night. He has apologised and taken full responsibility and requested that I pull down my post,” Ezekiel Mutua wrote on Facebook post this morning.

“I do so in good faith and in reciprocity for the mature manner in which he has handled the matter. I do so because I believe people make mistakes and learn from them. We all know the contribution of Mwalimu.”

Mutua however warned that the good reputation and branding Churchil has created as the ‘Godfather’ of Kenyan comedy should not be down-washed just in matter of seconds by airing irreputable and  and dirty content.
