Tough Times? Michelle Obama’s Latest Instagram Post Could Be Answer

It is a fact that the cost of living has been steadily rising. Nowadays, Sh1, 000 is more like Sh100 – it is barely enough to do meaningful household shopping, and as if that is not enough, the shelves are not carrying any unga!

But we can use our empty pockets to our advantage during these uncertain times. Former First Lady Michelle Obama shows us how best to do this as she continues to inspire us to keep up with our #health goals.

On Monday, Michelle shared on Instagram that she frequently hosted workout boot camps with her friends while she was in the White House. Even though she no longer lives there, she decided to continue the tradition.

As she said on her post “When I was at the White House, I often hosted boot camp weekends for my close girlfriends. It didn’t matter that we were all at varying fitness levels. Our bootcamp weekends were a reminder that if we want to keep taking care of others, we need to take care of ourselves first. And even though I’m no longer at the White House, I’ve continued this tradition and wanted to share some photos. My girlfriends have been there for me through all kinds of life transitions over the years – including a pretty big one recently! – and we’ve done our best to stay healthy together. Whether it’s a bootcamp or a walk around the neighborhood, I hope you and your crew can find some time this summer to be healthy together.”

So in as much as you feel it is a bit much to bear, take some time off and think about you. It could be ditching the bus ride home to take a walk to reflect, gang up with your neighbours for a morning jog, round up the neighbours’ kids for a game of “a ringa ringa roses”, or whatever it is you fancy, to bring back the sanity.
