The Television Critics Association has released the nominees for the 2019 TCA Awards, slated for Aug. 3, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills.

Netflix’s Russian Doll and FX’s Pose lead the nominations with four each. HBO leads the networks with 15 nominations, with Netflix coming a close second with 14. HBO credits heavy hitters like Game of Thrones, Veep, John Oliver, Sesame Street, Sharp Objects, Leaving Neverland and Barry. CBS leads NBC among the broadcast networks, with 4 and 3 nominations respectively.

As usual there will be stiff competition in the Program of the Year category, with Game of Thrones going against Pose (FX), Fleabag (Amazon), Chernobyl (HBO), Russian Doll (Netflix) and When They See Us (Netflix).

TCA president Daniel Fienberg said that it has been a landmark season for television across all networks and platforms, noting that the strong nomination roster represents a diverse blend of talented performers.

The awards are voted on by more than 200 television critics and journalists. Showtime weekly late-night series hosts – Desus and Mero will host the award ceremony. TCA will announce the Heritage Award and Career Achievement winners at a later date.
