Waiguru’s plans to fund the 2017 expensive campaigns

The Former Devolution and Planning  Cabinet Secretary, Anne Waiguru partly detailed how she plans to fund the expensive campaigns for the Kirinyaga gubernatorial race yesterday night.

In an interview , Waiguru was mentioned in the infamous Sh791 Million National Youth Service (NYS) scandal, noted that she was planning to carry out cost efficient campaigns.

“I am not going to be in an expensive campaign, I do not have the resources,” Waiguru stated.

The former minister divulged that she already has well wisher who were willing to offer support in her political ambitions. She added that they were also going to carry out fundraisers to finance the whole process.

When Ms Waiguru was questioned on how she was going to convince Kenyans that the money she was using was not from the stolen funds, she indicated that ‘people will always perceive and say different things’.

“Let us be very clear I do not have the Sh791 Million, the Sh791 Million perpetrators are in court. I do not have a single shilling that belongs to anybody,” she noted.

She firmly stated  that she was not going to carry a burden that was not hers.

Waiguru further mentioned that she was aware her political rivals will use the NYS saga to attack her but she would not let that detour her in the race.
