Wanyama confirms passing Spurs Medical

The Kenya National team player and a midfielder at Southampton has announced that he has passed medical tests, a step that brings him closer to his former boss Pochettino at Toteharm Hotspurs White Hart Lane stadium.

The deal bringing Wanyama to Spurs is expected to be between £9-11m, and is the first of several expected moves in the transfer window for Tottenham, withstanding formal confirmation from the two clubs.

“I am indeed elated at passing my medicals at Tottenham. It is a new dawn in my career and I believe I will give my best for my new team,” Wanyama said in an interview with African football website www.soka25east.com.

Wanyama, who has made 92 appearances for the south coast club since arriving from Celtic in July 2013, appeared to be set on a move away from St. Mary’s on Monday after it was rumoured a fee of £11million had been agreed between the two clubs.

However, it would appear that the move has edged even closer to completion following Wanyama’s comments to the African football website.

“I want to thank Southampton management and fans for the exceptional time we had together. I will always have a fond place for them in my heart.”
