WhatsApp to make much awaited update

The once a rumor is now coming to a rality after  WhatsApp announced that it is finally pushing out its video calling feature.

The world’s most popular messaging service says video calling will be arriving on iOS, Android and Windows devices in the coming days.

In a statement on their blog WhatsApp said: “We’re introducing this feature because we know that sometimes voice and text just aren’t enough.

“There’s no substitute for watching your grandchild take her first steps, or seeing your daughter’s face while she’s studying abroad.

“And we want to make these features available to everyone, not just those who can afford the most expensive new phones or live in countries with the best cellular networks.

Once the app has been updated, users will notice a new option when they tap the call button.

Along with voice calls there’s now a button for video calls.

Once this is tapped your selfie camera will be activated and a notification sent to the contact to accept the video call.

It’s worth noting that video calls will use up your data if you’re away from Wi-Fi so be careful where you use it.
