The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) joined the Kenya Scouts Association in marking the successful conclusion of the 2025 National Scouts Competitions and Educational Camp, at Rowallan National Scouts Camp in Nairobi.

The four-day event brought together 8,395 Scouts from across the country, including participants from KDF-sponsored schools in Embakasi Garrison, Isiolo Barracks, Moi Barracks in Eldoret and Moi Air Base.

Activities during the camp focused on leadership, environmental conservation, innovation, teamwork and community service.

The Chief of the Defence Forces (CDF), who is also the Patron of Scouts within the KDF, was represented at the closing ceremony by Brigadier Elijah Gatere as Chief Guest.

“On behalf of the CDF, Brigadier Gatere commended the Scouts for their discipline, creativity, and teamwork, urging them to uphold the values of service, patriotism, and leadership,” he said

The Kenya Scouts Association expressed appreciation to the KDF for its continued support, particularly for providing medical services that ensured the health and safety of all participants during the camp.

This collaboration, the Association noted, reflects the military’s commitment to nurturing youth leadership and character development through scouting.

The closing ceremony was attended by notable figures, including the Chief Scout of Kenya, Professor Jacob Kaimenyi, Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya Scouts Association Mr. Moses Danda, the Deputy Chief Scout, the Commandant of the National Traffic Police and the Vice Chairperson of NACADA.
