The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has released a step-by-step procedure for Kenyans to apply for reflective plates. The new process is fully automated and accessible through the e-citizen platform.
All paperwork previously required has been eliminated to improve efficiency. The application process has been simplified and reduced to 3 steps. The documentation required is a coloured copy of the logbook and pictures of the number plates. The application status can be tracked via the portal.
SMS notifications are sent at every stage of application processing. The applications are verified and processed within 7 working days. The 3 steps are as follows:
STEP 1.
- Log into your E-Citizen account.
- Select the NTSA service portal (new).
- Select the motor vehicle and click on view.
STEP 2.
- Click the motor vehicle services then reflective plates.
- Select plate type and counter collection office.
- Attach the required documents in one PDF format.
STEP 3.
- Scroll down and tick the declaration box then click Preview.
- Submit to pay for the reflective plate and click complete.
- Collection notification sent via SMS.
