Ministry of Interior 2024/25 Financial Year Budget Allocation

The 2024/25 financial year budget has allocated Ksh. 1971.48 billion to the Ministry of Interior and National Administration.

This budget aims to support internal security, improve citizen services and modernize security agencies.

Out of this allocation, Ksh. 110.6 billion has been dedicated to the National Police Service.

This funding will be used to equip the police and Kenya Prisons Services with advanced tools and training which is crucial for maintaining law and order, reducing crime rates and ensuring public safety.

To streamline government operations and make services more accessible, Prof. Njuguna Ndung’u, the Cabinet Secretary for Treasury and Economic Planning, allocated Ksh. 5.13 billion to the digitization of citizen services.

This move towards e-governance will enhance efficiency and transparency, benefiting millions of Kenyans.

CS Ndung’u further allocated Ksh. 36.15 billion to improve field administration infrastructure.

This will boost the National Government Administration’s ability to coordinate and manage various programs.

This includes crucial areas like border security, peacebuilding, and national cohesion, combating illicit alcohol & drugs and disaster operations.

Additionally, Ksh. 35.55 billion was allocated to correctional services.

This funding will be used to improve prison conditions, support rehabilitation programs and ensure the humane treatment of inmates, aligning with international standards.
