Soipan Tuya Moved to Defense Docket as Duale to Environment

The national assembly speaker Moses Wetangula has announced further adjustments to the Cabinet nominees.

During his address to the house on Tuesday afternoon, Wetangula revealed the names of the 11 cabinet secretaries nominated by President William Ruto, stating that Soipan Tuya will assume the Defense docket and Aden Duale will be moved to the Ministry of Environment.

President Ruto unveiled the cabinet nomination last Friday after dismissing his whole cabinet following pressure from anti-government protests going on in the country.

As Members of the National Assembly will tomorrow resume sittings after a three-week recess, their top agenda is vetting the cabinet Nominees and tabling a report in 28 days.

Aden Duale has expressed his gratitude to the president for the reassignment.

“I am grateful to President William Ruto for reassigning me from the Defense Ministry to the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change, and Forestry. I look forward to serving in my new portfolio and ensuring the focus is on sustainable environmental management, combating climate change, and promoting reforestation and conservation efforts,” read Duale’s X post in part.
