The ‘RUTO MUST GO’ slogan not for Gen Z, says CS Duale

The Cabinet Secretary for Defence Hon. Aden Duale says that the slogan ‘RUTO MUST GO’ is not a Gen Z slogan but for people who are even older than him.

Speaking in a Television interview on Wednesday evening CS Duale says Hon. Kalonzo Musyoka, Hon. Kieni and Dr. Miguna Miguna champion the slogan.

The CS said that the ‘RUTO MUST GO’ slogan that has dominated the streets of different places across the country during anti-government protests is not pushed by the Gen Z protesters as purported.

He pointed an accusing finger at some of the opposition leaders who seemed to be pushing the slogan trying to get President Ruto out of power.

Mr. Duale went ahead to mention the Azimio leaders led by Wiper leader Hon. Kalonzo Musyoka, Jubilee SG Hon. Kioni and lawyer Miguna Miguna as the promoters of the slogan to remove the government from power.

“The ‘Ruto Must Go’ slogan is not a Gen Z slogan, it is Kalonzo Musyoka, it is Kioni, it is Miguna. It is the traditional group of people who are not Gen Zs, who have not recovered and who cannot wait for 2027 and they even feel because Baba is going to AU, they have no chance in 2027,” CS Duale said.

“And in their wildest dream, they feel maybe there is a shortcut to change President William Ruto, but the Constitution of Kenya 2010, does not provide for that. You cannot even tell an MCA ‘He must go’ and those are just words coming from people who should be occupying their places as the opposition in this Country and traditionally they never voted for William Ruto,” he added.

Since Gen Z’s started the protests across the Country two weeks ago, they have been changing slogans starting from ‘Reject Finance Bill’ and after the MPs voted YES it led to ‘Occupy Parliament’ which later changed to the ‘Ruto Must Go’
