The Cabinet Secretary for Labour and Social Protection, Alfred Mutua has announced that a Saudi Arabian Human Resource team is currently in Kenya seeking to employ 500 Nannies for their company.
The CS clarified that the company is looking for nannies and not housemaids.
“Duties are child-focused only; no housemaid responsibilities,” stated CS Mutua.
“The company will cover all pre-arrival costs, including visas and tickets,” added the CS.
According to the CS, only female candidates are eligible to apply and should have any type of certificate/diploma/graduate with at least 1 year of childcare experience.
Interviews are scheduled for 6th December at the Nairobi National Polytechnic, located on Mogira Road, opposite Pangani Police Station, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
Their responsibilities will include helping children with mobility and general welfare, feeding and bathing children as needed, supervising and assisting children with homework and introducing children to the English language.
Additionally, the CS stated that the monthly salary will range from 1,200 to 1,500 Riyals (approximately Kshs. 41,000 – 52,000, tax-free).
Successful applicants will enjoy free accommodation, three meals a day, transport to and from work and full medical care will be provided.
Applicants are required to be clean, well-dressed, smart, and articulate with excellent English communication skills, hold a valid Kenyan passport or have an eCitizen application in progress, have a current Certificate of Good Conduct or proof of an eCitizen application in progress, submit a CV and recommendation letter, have a medical fee of Kshs. 13,500 which is non-refundable.
Those with additional certifications such as First Aid will have a significant advantage.
Those unsatisfied with the assigned family will be reassigned to the desired family.
“Successful applicants should be ready to travel to Saudi Arabia before the end of the year or early next year,” wrote the Labour CS.
