In a major investigative breakthrough, police officers have arrested a suspect in connection with a violent robbery that occurred in Parklands, Nairobi, on June 28, 2025.
The arrest follows days of diligent work by detectives who pursued multiple leads to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident.
According to the National Police Service (NPS), the robbery with violence was reported at the Parklands Police Station, prompting immediate investigations.
Working with intelligence gathered from the crime scene and witnesses, investigators were able to identify a vehicle believed to have been used during the commission of the offence.
The trail led police officers to Eldoret town, over 300 kilometers from the original crime scene.
On July 2, 2025, the suspect was apprehended, marking a significant step in the case. A silver Toyota Axio, believed to have been used in the robbery, was recovered during the arrest.
Upon conducting a search of the vehicle, officers discovered several suspicious items, including a reflector jacket, a police headdress with a white cover, and two different vehicle registration plates.
These items are believed to have been used to facilitate or disguise the criminal activity. Their presence raised concerns about possible impersonation of law enforcement officers or attempts to evade identification during the robbery.
The suspect and the recovered exhibits were transported back to Parklands Police Station for further processing and interrogation.
The National Police Service commended the investigators for their swift and strategic response.
Additionally, NPS reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the lives and property of all Kenyans, assuring the public that such crimes will be met with firm action.
As investigations continue, the suspect is expected to face charges related to robbery with violence and any other offences that may arise from the recovered items.
The case is a reminder of the crucial role timely intelligence and inter-county coordination play in combating crime in Kenya.
