Defence Forces Recruit Training School Welcomes New Cohort 01/25 in Eldoret

The Defence Forces Recruit Training School (DFRTS) today welcomed a new group of trainees under Cohort 01/25, marking the official commencement of their journey into the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF).

The reception ceremony took place at DFRTS in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County, and was presided over by Brigadier Alphonce Ndar.

In his address to the recruits, Brig Ndar encouraged them to embrace the rigorous training ahead with discipline, determination, and a positive mindset.

“I wish you nothing but success. Stay healthy, take care of yourselves, and approach your training with discipline and commitment,” he said.

According to the Ministry of Defence, the newly joined recruits will undergo through document verification, medical screening, biometric registration and issuance of military kit, followed by an orientation phase designed to prepare them for full military training.

Their foundational training will cover: Discipline Physical conditioning, Field craft, Leadership development and Core soldiering skills.

This intake includes General Duty recruits as well as Tradesmen and Tradeswomen, reflecting the diverse professional needs of the Defence Forces.

The arrival of Cohort 01/25 marks yet another step in strengthening the country’s defence readiness and sustaining a professional, well-trained, and mission-ready force.
