CS Matiang on Corruption

Accountants 39th annual meeting Dr. Matiangi urged accountants not to be used to cook books to satisfy the corrupt saying the professional elevates them to high calling to be faithful custodians of funds for development and service delivery and should not be used to enrich the selfish few.

Matiang’I says the country is rich in resources that require proper harnessing and administration to achieve government development goals including enhanced service delivery through dimensional approach of preservation, protection and prudent management of the same.;;;;;UPS;;;;The Cs called on the Institution to join government efforts in fighting corruption by name- shaming the rogue accountants who collude to steal from public coffers resources entrusted with them;;;;UPS;;;;The CS assuring the meeting that Kenya is safe and his ministry is ready to support IEBC in execution of its mandate of organizing and overseeing the august 9th polls.

ICPAK chairman George Mokua said the institution is concerned with the rise of basic food commodities occasioned by rising of international oil prices hence calling for the government to intervene.

Mokua said the Institution is re-engineering the profession to meet the needs of the ever changing environment through strengthening the role of internal auditors in detection and prevention of corruption.
