The Director of Criminal Investigations, Mr. Mohamed I. Amin, today officially opened the second analytical boot camp under the Women’s Action Initiative at the Sarova Whitesands Hotel in Mombasa County. The event has brought together participants from various countries, highlighting the growing international collaboration in addressing transnational organised crime.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Amin expressed appreciation to INTERPOL and the Enhancing Africa’s Response to Transnational Organised Crime (ENACT) project—funded by the European Union—for spearheading the training. He noted that the initiative continues to strengthen law enforcement capability across the continent.
“He emphasised that the ENACT project has been a beacon of collaboration, strengthening the continent’s fight against the insidious threats of transnational organised crime that undermine development, governance, security, and the rule of law. He also encouraged the participants to effectively apply the knowledge they would gain from the workshop,” stated the DCI.
“The ENACT project has been a beacon of collaboration, strengthening our fight against the insidious threats of transnational organised crime that undermine development, governance, security, and the rule of law,” Mr. Amin said.
“I urge all participants to apply the knowledge gained here to enhance our collective response.”
The Women’s Action Initiative aims to empower women professionals in security and law enforcement agencies by equipping them with advanced analytical skills, leadership competencies and operational effectiveness needed in combating organized and emerging criminal networks.
Also in attendance were the German Embassy First Secretary and Head of Press and Political Advisor, Mr. Milan Klopproge, the head of INTERPOL, Mr Africa Apolo, and the Women’s Action Initiatives official representative, Ms Nathalie Richard-Bober.
