In a significant breakthrough, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) based in Dandora, working closely with their counterparts from the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau, have arrested two key suspects in connection with a harrowing robbery and gang rape incident that occurred on the night of March 11, 2025.

The two suspects, identified as Ben Waimari and Moses Odhiambo alias Pascal, were apprehended following a detailed forensic investigation and intelligence-led operation that traced them back to the scene of the crime.

The incident unfolded as the female victim was driving home along the Ruai-Kangundo Road.

“The victim was driving along Ruai-Kangundo Road, heading to her residence at Malaa, when her vehicle skidded off the road and became stuck,” the DCI stated .

“As she attempted to extricate her car from the mud, she was approached by the two suspects and their five accomplices, who pretended to assist her. However, their intent quickly turned sinister as they forced her into the car’s boot, taking control of the vehicle,” added the DCI.

The suspects drove the vehicle through the Mowlem area and stopped near Nairobi River at Kwa Mbao within Dandora, where they subjected the victim to a horrifying ordeal.

The attack was only halted when a passing motorist noticed the commotion and intervened, prompting the attackers to flee in the stolen vehicle, leaving the victim behind.

Following the incident, the victim received medical attention and reported the matter at Kwa Mbao Police Post.

Her vehicle, along with household items and money, had been stolen, and she was left traumatized by the ordeal.

Detectives launched a swift and comprehensive investigation, which led them to the Maringo area of Buruburu sub-county.

There, the stolen vehicle was recovered, vandalized and stripped of its wheels.

Some of the victim’s stolen items were also recovered during the operation.

The arrested suspects are currently in police custody as detectives intensify the manhunt for the remaining accomplices, who are still at large.
