The Ministry of Health is dedicated to enhancing employment prospects for Kenyan nursing graduates by raising the number of individuals taking the NCLEX exam and achieving qualifications for international job opportunities.

Today, Mary Muthoni, the Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards, visited the Pearson VUE NCLEX examination center to investigate methods for improving accessibility and affordability of the exam for Kenyan nurses.

“Our focus is to ensure that more Kenyan nurses can sit for the NCLEX exam without financial or logistical constraints. By improving access to this examination, we are unlocking global employment opportunities for our healthcare professionals,” said PS Muthoni.

“Through the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) and the Nursing Council of Kenya, the State Department for Public Health and Professional Standards has partnered with Pearson VUE to strengthen nurses’ preparation for the exam, a critical step toward securing international employment,” the Ministry of Health said on X.

The PS reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring more nursing graduates take the NCLEX exam and access lucrative job opportunities abroad.

Kenya Medical Training College reported to offer a comprehensive NCLEX preparatory course designed to empower candidates with the skills and confidence they need to succeed in the exam.

PS Muthoni was joined by KMTC CEO Dr. Kelly Oluoch and Nursing Council of Kenya CEO Dr. Lister Onsongo.
