Health Cabinet Secretary Hon. Aden Duale has reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to advancing Universal Health Coverage (UHC), emphasizing collaboration as a key driver in delivering affordable and accessible healthcare for all Kenyans.
During a brief handover ceremony at the Ministry’s headquarters in Nairobi, Hon. Duale officially assumed office, acknowledging the contributions of his predecessor, Dr. Deborah Mlongo Barasa, in spearheading critical health sector reforms.
He emphasized that a nation’s prosperity is intrinsically tied to the health of its people and reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring every Kenyan has access to quality medical services.
Accompanied by Principal Secretaries Ms. Mary Muthoni (Public Health and Professional Standards) and Mr. Harry Kimtai (Medical Services), Hon. Duale underscored the Ministry’s alignment with Kenya’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
He highlighted the importance of a strong healthcare system in driving economic growth and improving the quality of life for all citizens.
“Health Cabinet Secretary Hon. Aden Duale this morning emphasized collaboration as a key driver in accelerating affordable healthcare systems and advancing Universal Health Coverage (UHC), a crucial pillar in Kenya’s transformative agenda,” stated MOH.
Addressing Ministry staff, Hon. Duale commended their dedication and assured them of his support in driving Kenya’s transformative health agenda forward.
He pledged to build on ongoing reforms while ensuring that health policies and programs align with the broader national vision of economic empowerment and social well-being.
