Kajiado Senator Peter Mositet has ditched Jubilee Party after losing primaries to Philip Mpayie.
In a letter to Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju, Mositet says that the polls were free and fair as it was reported.
“Following te party nominations held in Kajiado County that were neither free nor fair and were characterized by result manipulation, I hereby notify you of my resgnation as a member of the Jubilee Party,” read part of the letter.
Mositet further noted that the decision was not easy to arrive at and it was out of thoughtful considerations.
“The decision has not been easy to one and has been made out of thoughtful consideration and meaningful consultation with the people of Kajiado County whom I serve,” read the other part of the statement as he wished the party the best in future.
This resignation comes a few hours after the president urged party members who had lost in the primaries to concede defeat and support the winners.
The president had earlier noted that the Jubilee Party would accommodate everybody once re-elected to power.
