The 15th Annual Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) Scientific and Health (KASH) Conference began on February 11, 2025, at the Safari Park Hotel and Casino, bringing together experts, researchers, and policymakers to discuss innovations in the field of healthcare.
The Ministry of Health has announced that the conference, centered on the theme “Research, Technology, and Innovation for a Sustainable Health System,” emphasizes the crucial importance of scientific research in reshaping the healthcare framework in Kenya.
During her address at the event, Principal Secretary Mary Muthoni stressed the necessity of incorporating research-based innovations into the health system to enhance service delivery, improve patient outcomes, and address new health challenges.
“Our healthcare system must be grounded in evidence-based solutions. By harnessing technology and innovation, we can build a more resilient and sustainable health sector that benefits all Kenyans,” she stated.
According to the Ministry of Health the conference serves as a platform for stakeholders to share ideas, present cutting-edge research, and forge collaborations to advance public health.
“Key topics on the agenda include digital health, emerging diseases, and the application of artificial intelligence in medical research.”
As Kenya aims to take a leading role in health research and innovation, the Ministry of Health has indicated that the KASH Conference serves as an essential platform for developing policies and strategies designed to create a more robust and sustainable healthcare system for the future.
