Kenya Airways Hosts the 37th International Air Transport Association (IATA) Ground Handling Conference.
The conference is expected to bring together over 1,500 delegates from around the world and will focus on modernizing operations, workforce development, and enhanced collaboration to elevate performance across the aviation sector.
“Africa is on the cusp of an aviation revolution,” Michael Joseph, Chair of Kenya Airways stated as he called for bold investment, smarter regulation & stronger collaboration to unlock the continent’s full potential.
This year’s IGHC focuses on four priorities: Embedding safety in every action, global standardization of processes, enhancing baggage operations and building a sustainable and inclusive way forward.
This 37th IATA, IGHC provided a unique opportunity to shine a spotlight on Africa.
“As a continent we find ourselves at a fascinating juncture a time of both significant challenges and exhilarating opportunities,” Michael Joseph, Chairman – Kenya Airways PLC stated.
“Ground handling is more than a support function. It is strategic infrastructure. It ensures safety. It drives efficiency. It shapes the passenger journey,” M. Mejstrikova IATA’s director of ground operations said.
However, the IGHC will be historic as it marks the first time the conference is hosted on the African continent. This significant milestone underscores Africa’s rising prominence in global aviation and Kenya’s leadership as a regional hub.
