The Ministry of Health has reaffirmed its commitment to deepening bilateral health collaboration with the Kenya–United Kingdom Health Alliance (KUKHA) as preparations gear up for the Commonwealth Health Ministers Meeting and the World Health Assembly (WHA) in 2026.

Principal Secretary for Medical Services, Dr. Ouma Oluga, hosted Hon. Jeremy Lefroy, Chair of KUKHA, accompanied by Mr. John Guto (Coordinator) and Dr. William Motende (MoH), at Afya House in Nairobi.

Hon. Lefroy reaffirmed KUKHA’s commitment to advancing health cooperation between Kenya and the United Kingdom.

“Hon. Lefroy congratulated Dr. Oluga on his appointment and reiterated KUKHA’s continued commitment to advancing collaboration in health between Kenya and the United Kingdom,” noted MOH.

Discussions focused on KUKHA’s fifth anniversary celebrations in 2026, joint resource mobilization and preparations for a side event during the Commonwealth Health Ministers Meeting in Geneva next May.

Dr. Oluga commended KUKHA for its pivotal role in strengthening Kenya’s health workforce, enhancing capacity building, and promoting health diplomacy.

Addittionally, Oluga emphasized that the upcoming global health engagements will offer Kenya an opportunity to showcase its leadership in health system reforms and deepen partnerships that drive sustainable health outcomes.

The meeting also discussed plans for KUKHA’s fifth-year anniversary celebration in London, aligning it with Kenya’s efforts to bring health to the forefront of global dialogue during the 2026 Commonwealth and WHA sessions.

This engagement underscores Kenya’s commitment to international health partnerships that foster innovation, knowledge exchange and resilient health systems.
