Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has commended the Kenyan diaspora in the United Kingdom for their unwavering commitment to national development, following a high-level engagement alongside President William Ruto in London.

In a statement shared on social media, Mudavadi expressed his appreciation for the enriching dialogue with Kenyans living in the UK, describing the meeting as a testament to the unbreakable bond between the country and its citizens abroad.

“It was a pleasure to join H.E. President William Ruto and the Kenyan diaspora community in the UK for an enriching and lively conversation that underscored the unbreakable bond between our country and its sons and daughters abroad,” Mudavadi stated.

The meeting, held during President Ruto’s official visit to the UK, covered a broad spectrum of issues ranging from economic development to governance and the welfare of Kenyans overseas.

Mudavadi noted that while challenges remain, Kenya has made significant progress.

“We explored a wide range of issues, candidly reflecting on the challenges we still face as a nation, while celebrating the remarkable progress we have achieved together over the years,” he said.

He further emphasized the critical role played by diaspora remittances and innovation, stating that their efforts not only strengthen the economy but also uplift countless families back home.

“The government remains steadfast in its commitment to steering Kenya towards greater prosperity. I deeply commend the resilience, resourcefulness, and unwavering contribution of our diaspora community,” he noted.

Mudavadi’s sentiments echoed those of President Ruto, who has consistently pushed for deeper engagement with the Kenyan diaspora and the development of policies that harness their potential for national transformation.

With diaspora remittances now ranking among Kenya’s top foreign exchange earners, the government’s outreach is seen as a strategic move to solidify global partnerships and enhance national development from abroad.
