Narok County Assembly warn Senator Ledama over spat with Governor Ntutu

Members of the Narok County Assembly have cautioned the second time Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina over the recent online altercations and allegations against County Governor Patrick Ntutu.

The leaders said Senator Ole Kina was derailing the development agenda for the County by dragging Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) and the top leadership into wrangles as he took to social media and termed them as corrupt and visionless in regards to helping Narok residents.

Led by the Assembly’s Leader of Majority Dominic Sonkoi Lemein, they asked Senator Ole Kina to come out with facts over the recent procurement malpractices and corruption allegations he recently posted online.

“Our attention has been drawn to the comments by Senator Ole Kina, sentiments and comments being carried on social media and by the mainstream media.

Though we take cognizance of his right of expression, his comments, taken in their native form amounts to nothing but meddling and obtrusion, this is apart from him painting this assembly as corrupt and incompetent,” said Lemein as he addressed members of the press outside the county assembly.

The leaders said Senator Ole Kina has been in Government for the last five years; he never complained or challenged the previous regime, as the posted corruption document was an Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) report from the year 2021.

On his part, the Narok Assembly Speaker Davis Dikirr said he is leading an assembly that is competent to oversee the Executive and that there would be no problem if the MCAs worked together with Governor Ntutu in the field.

“We are a capable team led by the rule of Law, and we are ready to practice our mandate for the betterment of the livelihoods of the people of Narok,” said Dikirr.

The leaders in one voice invited Senator Ole Kina to visit the County assembly and get the right report on the procurement issues he was raising, saying he was misinformed and was peddling rumors aimed at stalling Governor Ntutu’s development agenda to the people.

Among the issues raised by Ole Kina were the procurement of new road construction equipment and repair of the stalled ones.
