NASA reject IEBC calls to put demos on hold ahead of Wednesday discussions

The Coalition for National Super Alliance (NASA) has – on Monday evening – rejected the calls by Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission to call off the planned anti-IEBC memos and engage them in responding to all their requests.

This is after IEBC wrote to the coalition noting that all their demands cannot be met because of the ongoing contracts with the said firms in availing electoral materials ahead of the presidential re-run.

“The commission recognizes your inalienable right to picket and demonstrate The commission writes to request that you put off your planned protests to enable the joint consultative meeting scheduled for Wednesday, September 27 to address concerns raised by the different stakeholders,” the statement read from IEBC.

NASA leaders rejected the calls and sad that they will lead a peaceful demonstration and push for the resignation of IEBC officials who it accuses of bungling the August 8 polls.
