National Resistance Movement (NRM) has finally released a list of companies that his supporters should boycott. The Movement’s legislators released the list while addressing the media at a press conference on 3rd November 2017.
According to a group of the Movement MPs, Safaricom, Brookside Diaries and Bidco Africa are among the companies whose products and services should be spurned. The MPs claimed that the listed companies had not only frustrated the legitimate aspirations of Kenyans for democracy, but also they had blood of Kenyans in their hands by providing platform for rigging of election by the Jubilee regime. They alleged that these companies provided goods and companies that are supplied by people who have hunger for power.
THE legislators urged the NRM members to find alternative products and services to the mentioned ones by Friday 10th November 2017. This announcement comes a week later after the NRM leader, Raila Odinga had vowed to release a list of companies that he alleged being used by the Jubilee regime to take power.
Safaricom is a giant telecommunication company whose services are M-pesa, M-shwari and among may other services. The NRM alleged that it was used to rig election on 8th august 2017. Brookside Dairies is owned by the Kenyatta Family and manufactures Brookside Milk, Molo Milk and Delamare Milk whereas Bidco Africa manufactures household products like Kimbo Cooking Fat and Elianto cooking oil.
