On Saturday 10th of May 2025, Member of Parliament Mumias East constituency, Peter Salasya has denied claims that he has been funded by the Statehouse claiming that he is not a UDA project.
“I am not a UDA project. I am NOT funded by State House. I have NEVER received a single cent let alone Ksh 40 million from Katoo Ole Metito or any government official,” said Salasya on his X platform.
He proceeded to express doubts on the claims saying that they were baseless and were only there to discredit his campaign and undermine his influence with the citizens.
“These claims are nothing but cheap, lazy propaganda manufactured by cowards who are terrified of the political wave I am building across the nation. They can’t match the momentum, they can’t match the courage, and they can’t match the connection I have with the people so they resort to lies,” added Salasya.
This comes after MP Peter Salasya posted his payslip online in a bid to show transparency. The move sparked mixed reactions, with some Kenyans accusing him of flaunting his income while others questioned how he funds his political activities.
He responded emphasizing on his transparency and his interest to only serve the people of Kenya above all else.
“Yes, I posted my payslip. I don’t hide. I am transparent. I earn what every MP earns. But unlike others, I don’t worship money I serve the people. What you’re witnessing isn’t money at work. It’s pure strategy, unmatched charisma, and massive goodwill from Kenyans who believe in the future I represent,” remarked the MP.
However the law maker insisted on the transparency and effectiveness of the projects he has overseen and that there has not been misuse of Mumias CDF funds.
