Police in Isiolo have recovered a murder weapon believed to have been used in the fatal shooting incident of Nelly Echukut.
This follows the arrest of two suspects who led law enforcement officers to their hideout.
The operation was conducted by a team that included officers from Kulamawe Police Station, Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) officers from DCI Isiolo, National Police Reservists (NPR) and the Assistant Chief of Kakili Sub-Location in Isiolo Sub-County.
During the targeted operation, the team recovered an AK-47 rifle along with three rounds of ammunition.
The weapon is suspected to have been used in the murder of Ms. Echukut, and will undergo forensic analysis to aid in the ongoing investigation.
“During the operation, the multi-agency team successfully recovered an AK-47 rifle along with three (3) rounds of ammunition. The rifle is believed to have been used in the crime,” stated NPS.
