President William Ruto has appointed new acting Cabinet Secretaries to oversee key ministries in a move aimed at ensuring continuity and efficiency in government operations.
The appointments reflect the government’s commitment to maintaining high standards of governance and service delivery during transitional periods.
In a statement issued today, the government outlined the new acting appointments, which are set to take effect immediately.
“Following the changes effected within Cabinet on 19th December, 2024 and as the Cabinet Secretary nominees undergo the requisite parliamentary approval process, His Excellency the President has assigned acting Cabinet Secretaries to the vacant ministerial portfolios,” read the statement.
The appointed officials will take charge of their respective ministries, ensuring that critical projects and initiatives continue without disruption.
In his role Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi have been assigned to serve as the acting Cabinet Secretary for Ministry of Information, Communication and the Digital Economy.
On the other hand Environment CS Hon. Aden Duale will serve as the acting Cabinet Secretary for Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development while Hon Salim Mvurya will act as acting CS Ministry of Investments, Trade and Industry.
This comes nine days after the head of state made nominations, reassignments and appointments to the senior ranks of the executive on 19th December 2024.
These appointments are part of the broader effort to maintain stability and progress in key sectors of the government.
The acting Cabinet Secretaries will be responsible for implementing government policies and programs, coordinating with stakeholders, and overseeing day-to-day operations awaiting parliaments approval of the new nominees.
